About this event

We spend about 90% of our time inside. Did you know inside a typical home CO2 levels can spike at 2 or 3 times the World Health Organization limit? Moreover, the CSIRO estimates that the cost of poor indoor air quality in Australia may be as high as $12 billion per year! While we see plenty of action around sealing and insulating our homes and going all-electric for health and carbon savings, there needs to be more thinking into indoor air quality and the unsung hero that is Ventilation.

While moving to efficient lower carbon 7 star + and more passive houses is great, if not paired with adequate ventilation, increased airtightness can also lead to the build-up of gases, toxins and pollutants, which can also trigger respiratory health issues including:

  • gases

  • toxins

  • pollutants

  • mould and moisture

  • which can also trigger respiratory health issues

Whether a renovator or builder, join us for this important expert workshop where we will step through how ventilation is an absolutely critical piece of the overall puzzle for building all-electric low-carbon and more passive homes. In this session, you will discover all the tools you need to transform your thinking and your living space around:

  • A ventilation case study

  • managing moisture

  • heat pumps and all-electric appliances

  • end-of-life product considerations.

We are very lucky to be joined for this session by Angela Risstrom, Business Development Manager at STIEBEL ELTRON Australia.
